Global talents – Shared stage
Today’s TALENTEmünchen support programme looks back on a long tradition. It began in 1979 under the title Jugend gestaltet (Youth shapes), was continued between 1991 and 1994 as Talentbörse Handwerk (Crafts Talent Exchange) and has borne its current name since 1995.
Throughout all these years, TALENTEmünchen has pursued one central goal: to make outstanding young creatives and technically skilled young talents visible. In cooperation with academies, universities and craft organizations from all over the world, the best young designers from their country are nominated to present their ideas and projects. Visitors will be able to experience first-hand the trends, questions and visions of the next generation in arts and crafts and technology.
Showcase of the future
For many participants, TALENTEmünchen is the starting signal for an international career – and a unique opportunity for the public to get to know the designers and masters of tomorrow.
In the competition for participation, we receive around 700 international applications every year. In this way, the exhibition always develops its own character and thus becomes an important mirror of our times.
Awards and prizes
TALENTEmünchen prize
Every year, eight outstanding works are awarded the TALENTEmünchen prize by an international jury of experts. The winners receive a certificate and their works are also honored in the following year’s TALENTEmünchen catalogue with images and text – a springboard for international visibility.
Bavarian State Prize
All exhibitors at the Internationale Handwerksmesse have been able to apply for the Bavarian State Prize since 1952. The Bavarian State Prize is awarded with 5,000 euros, a gold medal and a certificate.
More information on the Bavarian State Prize can be found on the website of the Association of Bavarian Chambers of Crafts.
